UNODC Anti-Corruption Academic Expert Workshop

Tirana, 24 - 25 November 2016. UNODC, in cooperation with Washington and Lee University School of Law, the Embassy of the United States in Albania, the University of Tirana School of Law and with the strong support of the Rule of Law and Corruption Centre of Doha, organized a two-day workshop of the ACAD Initiative from 24 to 25 November 2016 at the University of Tirana School of Law. The workshop brought together a diverse range of academics from South East Europe, with the aim of enhancing their capacity to deliver high-quality anti-corruption education in their respective institutions. It provided the participants with an opportunity to share good practices in anti-corruption research and education and discuss the challenges involved in teaching anti-corruption, drawing on their own experience. A session was dedicated to presentations by students who participated in anti-corruption clinics, demonstrating the effectiveness of anti-corruption clinical legal education. Several participants from outside the South East Europe region attended the workshop to learn about good teaching practices and ways to promote the ACAD initiative in other countries and regions.
