Chapter IV of the Convention: International Cooperation

Articles 43-50

Facilitating and supporting international cooperation in the fight against corruption constitutes one of the main goals of the Convention. Chapter IV sets forth a legal framework covering six major modalities of international cooperation in criminal matters, namely extradition, transfer of sentenced persons, mutual legal assistance, transfer of criminal proceedings, law enforcement cooperation and joint investigations.

UNODC continues to promote and facilitate international cooperation between States parties based on the Convention. It regularly conducts capacity building training sessions for practitioners and updates its state of the art technical tools and resources.
